Another C4 Review

From: Daron Hodder - Alpanel Australia [mailto:dhodder@alpanel.com.au] Sent: Monday, 24 October 2005 7:11 AM To: dhgc@yahoogroups.com Cc: Adam Parer; Ricky Duncan; wingtech@idl.com.au Subject: Dalby - C4 Review Hello All, Yes, Yodes Boof and Blaino made macca's at Gatton yesterday, Yoda, winding down from 10,000ft, and myself struggling to get down in this new glider. This was our second trip over the range for the weekend, with Yoda landing at the Model airplane field 204km (first guy to go West to East!)and myself at the polo field (192.8) km) at Beaudesert on Saturday. It was a good weekend for Airborne ! Yoda test flew my new C4 on Saturday, as you expect with most gliders they all usually receive a twinking here and there to get them to do what you expect. Yoda towed up through some rough stuff, and the glider just stayed in there and tracked beautifully. After playing in some light lift Yoda landed and the verdict was no adjustment required. It was the sweetest glider he has ever flown. Well this got me excited, as I was very happy with how the C2 was going and was hopeful this one would not be a step backward. I towed at 12.30 and yes it handled the "Big Air" very well. With V.G off, one third and 2 thirds on, it thermalled nicely with no winding in etc. With V.G off, you could slow it right down, turn it on a dime, bar out and just sit there and enjoy the climb. With full rope on and on glide, there was no stopping it ! Airborne are on to a winner here !!! Straight out the factory and on the way to my P.B at 192.8 km. We decided to make it a little easier on Sunday and land at macca's at Gatton, 115km. It is on the way home, and is just before controlled airspace , plus it has some good Boof food !. We experienced the rough and the smooth stuff on this trip. The glider responded well to all conditions. (307kms for the weekend, 8.5 hours of great airtime!) Congratulations to Rick and Alby on a terrific product. Cant wait to see the 13.5 at Gulgong and see a few of our guys around that weight snapping these up !. Look forward to heading to Gulgong in 4 weeks time ! Boof
