The long anticipated XT-912 MK3 is the most recent offering of style, safety and performance from Airborne Australia. Designed and manufactured in Australia the MK3 has added to the long tested performance of the XT 912 series. Cockpit – New Design 

• Seat design: Seats have been redesigned for function, comfort and wear. Increased leg room and improved footrests make for a more comfortable flight.
• Soft Sides: Redesigned to allow for full enclosure of the storage area, increased storage area and improved aerodynamics.
• Cockpit internal: Wider more spacious cockpit for improved comfort and storage.

Cockpit External: improved aerodynamics for a more comfortable ride with improved protection against wind buffeting. Windscreen is now easily removable with quarter turn fasteners for quicker cleaning

Dash

• Simplified layout for a neater stylish finish.
• Instrument options allowing from the Amptronic GX2 instrument to a 8.5 inch MGL EFIS colour instrument with integrated GPS

Electrical

• General Improvements: The electrical systems have been overhauled to reduce complexity and EMI (noise). The wiring has been simplified and made easier to maintain.
• Strobe Lights: Optional fitting of strobe light has been allowed for.
• Fuel Level Sender: An inclusion to allow for real time information on fuel use and levels has been included to work with both instruments.
• Battery: The fuel tank has been modified allowing for easier access to the battery and new transponder / radio position.

Engine

• Installation: Thrust line has been offset (yaw) by 1.8 degrees and rotated forward (pitch) by 3 degrees significantly reducing engine torque effect at all power settings.
• Engine cowl: is now standard

Wing and Stability

• Wheel Spats: The rear will spat has been modified to improved tracking.

XRS Wing: Winglets custom designed to improve stability and wing efficiency. Underside sail area increased, and tip struts modified for a more rigged winglet mounting. These changes have resulted in improved tracking, stability, and better handling .

The XT-582 EZY. The EZY is a modified XT-582 Tundra. To get the cost down we are offering the EZY with less options than the Tundra version. We have taken away the intake and after silencer, the wheel
spats and are using a simpler modified shock absorber system.

The EZY still comes with the cockpit and soft sides and you can add wheel spats later if you choose. The EZY comes standard with the Merlin wing. This is a great entry level trike that you can own from new creating your own history and adventure.

The Arrow S wing coupled with the XT-912 base makes for a highly developed touring wing with a proven engine and base design. The Arrow strutted design allow for storage in lower hangars. The Mylar top surface of the Arrow S speaks performance and is easy to keep clean.

All Airborne microlights now come with the tundra wheels which open up a huge range of landing options.

The Arrow K is our latest generation intermediate performance king-posted wing and has conventional king-post and side wires with a Dacron top surface. The plan form copies the Arrow S based on a smaller span for better pilot control.

The Arrow K coupled with the lower cost XT-582 Tundra or Outback is a dream to fly and makes for a great cross country machine with ample speed range.

The T-Lite now come with the Polini Thor 190 engine with electric start. The engine weighs 15.3 kg. It develops 27 Horse power at 7400 rpm.

Re-printed from our last enews: Nanolights are becoming increasingly popular. In fact our You Tube channel which is up to 64,000 views gets more hits on our nanolight video than any other (Link below).

This month we are building 4 nano’s for customers, a combination of the V-Lite and the T-Lite. We have decided to switch from the Bailey engine on the T-lite and replace it with the Polini 190 E (Electric Start). The 190 Polini has more power and although a two stroke is still relatively quiet.

The reason behind the popularity of the nanolight is its simplicity, it is low cost and extremely transportable. The whole aircraft is very light from 70 kg for the V Lite and only takes 15-20 minutes to put together. The V-Lite wing can also double as a hang glider!

Nano’s can be used for soaring and it is possible to turn the motor off in lift and climb in thermals, conserving fuel at the same time. This also gives the pilot a challenge and we will soon see competitions where pilots are allowed a few litres of fuel and are tasked to stay airborne for the longest duration possible using a ombination of fuel natural thermal lift.

There are group’s of pilots starting to take up the sport, there is no more fun than flying these little trikes cross country with your mates.
