The T-Lite now come with the Polini Thor 190 engine with electric start. The engine weighs 15.3 kg. It develops 27 Horse power at 7400 rpm.

Pelican Airport: Airborne has started operating Airborne Flight Training from Pelican otherwise known as Belmont Airport. The airport as you can see is located in one of the most scenic places on the eastern seaboard of Australia. It has some amazing history that dates back to 1959 when it got it’s approval to operate as a commercial landing strip. Click here to add a title or text.

Airborne 2013 Year End

 Airborne started trading in 1983. Today marks 30 amazing years we have been in the flying business.

Gyrocopter News

Since we took on the Magni distributorship we have brought in five unit’s two of which landed this morning at the factory. This container consists of an M24 Orion VIP version and a 914 Turbo M16 Trainer. We have another container with three aircraft due in late August with 2 x M24’s and 1 x M16. The quality of build on the Magni is excellent and all imported Gyro’s are factory checked and test flown before releasing the the customer. We expect to order two more containers which equates to 6 aircraft prior to December 5 of which are are …

The Aussie dollar is dropping

The Australian dollar has fallen against some of the major currencies. For some overseas customers particulary from the  USA  this represents a discount on our pricing of around 10 pecent. On top of this we are offereing special insentives to overseas buyers to puchase any of our range of microlights over the month of July and August. The New F2-160 Hang Glider

The F2-160 is now in production. The smaller brother of the popular F2-190 the F2-160 has superb handling and the exceptional finish that we strive for at Airborne. The sail area is 160 sq ft (149 sq meter) and weighs in at only 19kg (42 pound). Magni factory Australia Visit

Last week Luca and Pietro Magni made the big flight (by Airline) from Italy to Australia. They only had 5 full days here so not much time and a lot to do. The boys spent the first day showing us how rotar blade balancing was performed on the recently shipped M24 Orion’s and the M16.
 
Airborne’s Russell Duncan had pre planned a trip up to Noosa Heads via various airfields where people could demo the Magni’s. The next morning the three Gyro’s left our airfield. The route included fuel stops and took in Port Macquarie, Ballina, Jacobs Well, Caloundra, Noosa …

Cloud Soaring Record on an XT582

William Olive known to his mates and others as Billo has been a consistant visitor to the Gulf of Carpentaria. The attraction to this remote area at the top end of Australia has mainly been the incredible wave cloud phenomena named the “Morning Glory”. The series of roll clouds form when moisture from onshore seabreezes is evident. The rolling wave can be up to 1000 kms(620mi) long. The wave continues it’s journey inland producing lift in front of the cloud. This lift allows pilot’s of all sorts of aircraft the opportunity to “surf” the cloud for miles inland until it …

Magni/Airborne demo days with the Magni brothers Luca and Pietro Magni from Italy.
Two M24 Orions and one M16 will depart Newcastle on the 13th March and head north taking in:
Ballina airport
Caboolture
Noosa
and will return via:
Dalby
Manilla
Rutherford/Maitland Airport.
There will be a barbeque breakfast at Airborne Upper Hunter hanger Rutherford/Maitland airport on the 16th March and all are welcome..

Demo flights will be available later in the Magni M24 and M16.
